A stunning Hotel Rembrandt wedding - my first time at the Weymouth venue

This May, I had the opportunity to visit a brand new venue, one I hadn't been to before in the many years that I've been a wedding photographer in the Dorset area. For the first time, I sampled a Hotel Rembrandt wedding, a Best Western labelled hotel close to the coast in the popular seaside town.

Hotel Rembrandt is one of those venues that caters for everything, and the happy couple can get ready here, have the ceremony, and a big afternoon and evening reception in its spacey Chesham Suite, which can host 200 people. The huge hall also has its own bar and a dance floor complete with possibly one of the biggest disco balls I've ever seen.

I visited the venue during the recent heatwave we had in the UK, so it was good to get the dress out of the hotel room and into the open where we could hang it to show it off in all its glory. The bridal prep room was very, very warm, so I took the opportunity of taking the dress downstairs, with the help of a couple of bridesmaids, to photograph it in the middle of the already dressed Chesham Suite, next to that huge glittering disco ball.

The Civil Ceremony took place inside, but the confetti shots, group shots and couple shots were done in the beautiful courtyard garden towards the rear of the property.

The ceremony was in one of the downstairs rooms, and again, was already dressed when I arrived. A beautiful set-up for 50-60 guests.

The wedding breakfast and party was all held in the Chesham Suite.
